Based In Brighton, Ceramicist William Papworth Studied Fine Art Before Taking To The Potters Wheel. Working From His Garden Studio, He Is Entirely Self-Taught. His Background In Fine Art Shows Though The Refinement Of His Pieces Which Although Simple In Form, Are Extremely Considered In Their Design Whilst Also Remaining Highly Functional Objects. Using A Pared-Back Colour Palette, William Is Particularly Interested In Ash-Based Glazes And The Natural Alchemy That Goes Into These.

This Large Tapered Bowl Is A Wonderfully Sculptural Pieces Which Would Just As Good On A Sideboard As It Would On The Kitchen Table. A Staggered, Conical Form Which Is Finished In A Soft, Matt White Glaze.
